Re-Inspection Surveys are where our surveyors will re-assess the asbestos materials that have already been identified from a previous report. As there is a duty to reinspect and monitor the condition of the asbestos containing materials every 12 months. This will ensure that the duty holder of any non-domestic premises complies with regulations set out in the Control of Asbestos Regulation 2012.

Why do you need an Asbestos Re-Inspection Survey?

Like all materials, ACMs will degrade over time and potentially become a health hazard. Therefore, all ACMs must be inspected regularly to ensure that they are in a good condition and have not deteriorated since the last inspection.

The survey will use the existin Asbestos Management Survey or asbestos management plan as reference to conduct the survey.

All asbestos survey reports will:

Examine and assess your current asbestos records to ensure they are detailed enough or if there are any gaps in the data
Re-inspect the site, to assess the condition of existing ACMs and to measure damage and changes to the condition of the material
Review all asbestos control measures and any asbestos management plan to ensure it meets standards, including updating drawings or photos where necessary

The report will identify if materials have deteriorated to such a level that have become a risk to health and safety.

If any Asbestos containing materials have deteriorated during the time since they were last inspected, our asbestos surveyors will be able to offer advice and guidance regarding the next steps to ensure you achieve compliance. Options may include asbestos removals, asbestos encapsulation, enclosing or labelling the material.
